General Set-up instructions:

Connecting the converter. Very important: When you receive the unit, connect the incoming and out to the TV cables -- Then plug the unit in.After 3-5 seconds, "02" should pop up on the converter display. Scroll through your channels. Most likely some or many of the channels will appear in the wrong order. This is very common on Jerrold systems and is because your cable company is using channel mapping". Try and locate the premium channels (pay-per-view is best). If they are descrambled (can be viewed clearly) then you are done. If you scroll through channels 2-13 and most of them are very fuzzy or static, proceed to HRC instructions. If some of the premium channels descramble and some do not (are still scrambled), proceed to Multi-Mode instructions.

Most channels are coming in fuzzy:
HRC Instructions : Unplug the Unit. Hold the switch located on the back of the unit down while plugging the unit into the wall.Wait for 02 to show on the converter display. Release the switch. All basic channels should be viewable. If any premium channels are showing scrambled procees to Multimode instructions.

Mulimode instructions:
Jerrold systems are capable of 256 different scrambling modes. If any of your premium channels come through scrambled after connecting the unit, press the switch on the back of the unit to scroll through the different modes. Each time you press the switch you will advance one mode. Eventually you should be able to lock on the correct mode and the picture will "pop-in". Remember that there are 256 possible modes. (If you have multi-mode unit, it will now switch automatically at the same time as your cable system.)

Locked Up:
If your converter locks up this means that even thoug you change the channel, the picture stays the same (or channels won't change or the converter will not respond to the remote) UNPLUG THE UNIT FOR 15 MINUTES. The converter will reset and should resume back to normal operation upon pluggin it back in.

Parental Control:
Push F-PC-1-2-3-4 ENTER
Digital display is now PC. Enter Channel to be locked out, #, #, Push PC, LED, should light up between numbers. Enter next channel and push PC for each channel to be locked out. Then push on/off button to turn unit off. Push again to turn unit on. Last channel entered will flash #, #, then PC, #, #, PC. To view, or to add/remove channels from memory, repeat above steps.
